We engaged Jake Chew from Weiken as our interior designer after meeting with several designers. Jake gave us a first impression of a very detailed and yet realistic and pragmatic interior designer. His honest yet rich in experience vibe was what drew us to settle for him as our final choice. During the initial renovation discussions (theme discussion, 3D rendering, tile selection etc), Jake was very professional and it was very apparent that he had a keen eye for design, he was able to identify our intended design and layout with minimal prompting. One outstanding point about Jake that I am very impressed with was that he constantly provided us with realistic feedback about our choices and even offered recommendations for first time home owners like us who sometimes did not understand practicality vs aesthetics trade offs. Many interior designers may over promise and fail to deliver in order to get your contract but Jake was not one of them. During the renovation process, Jake constantly provided me with updates every 2-3 days and was very meticulous in planning the timeline to ensure that we were able to meet the milestones in order to align with our shift in date. His attention to detail and care for his clients’ needs are exactly the type of traits to look out for an interior designer. For a big project like a renovation, there is bound to be miscommunications and defects but Jake was assuring and accommodating that he ensured that those points were rectified and touched up promptly. As a first time home owner, there was some anxiousness & inexperience in what to look out for our home, so I was constantly seeking advice from Jake and he was super responsive and he was always able to grasp my concerns quickly. Overall, I had an overwhelmingly pleasant experience with Jake during the renovation process, I have no doubt that I will be looking for him for my next home renovation in the future. 10/10 experience thanks so much Jake!
