Summary: Engaged Derrius 3 times for renovation and the journey was smooth sailing for all.

It is my 3rd time engaging Derrius and Weiken for renovation in a short span of 7 years.

This time round, it is for a small unit that is already quite well furnished and does not require a lot of renovation. Prior to engaging Derrius for this project, he came down to the unit with me and helped me have a look at the items that need to be done up.

And once again, he was upfront and honest about what needed to be done and what do not.

The renovation started promptly and was done in a few weeks as agreed since I needed this unit fast.

As mentioned in my previous review, Weiken isn’t the cheapest in the market. But they are the most reasonably priced in terms of the quality of workmanship. My unit which I have been staying for 2 years have no scratches on the vinyl flooring despite my kids cycling around and riding the e-kart every day. Walls and carpentry are also in perfect condition although my kids are not the most well behave when it comes to taking care of fixtures.

It was honestly a great pleasure as a consumer to have found a trustworthy ID who always deliver and do not overpromise. Will definitely engage his service again.

Derrius was our Interior Designer for our home renovation project with Weiken. If we could describe him in three words, it would be: fast, responsive, reliable.

Throughout the whole renovation process, he was patient and has never rushed or pressured us into making a choice that we were unsure about. His priority was always for us to make a decision that we will love for our home.

In fact, we have never once heard anything negative from him and feel comfortable enough to share our adventurous ideas with him. It’s also most helpful that he gives us realistic cost estimates for any add-ons that we’re considering so that we as homeowners don’t drift too far off from our budget in our excitement.

He has a keen eye for aesthetics and you can always count on his expert opinion to narrow down the best choices whenever you feel overwhelmed after looking at 100 colour charts.

Derrius has gone above and beyond our expectations, often replying to us or providing us with video updates regarding the progress of our project on the weekends or after office hours even without us asking him to, showing his dedication to the customer satisfaction. If there is anything that we’re not satisfied with, we can count on him to swiftly make arrangements to fix them up.

Even after the completion of our project, we continued asking him minor questions that we missed out as new homeowners, and Derrius continued to assist us with his quick responses.

Derrius has demonstrated his vast experience as an Interior Designer and it clearly shows. Needless to say, our overall renovation experience with Derrius was smooth and we had lots of fun. We absolutely loved that he brought our vision to life and we highly recommend him as your ID.

Derrius is the ID for our new BTO, he was recommended to us and due to the short time frame we had, we quickly secured him and the project started. I have done 3 renovations in my life.
Went for the cheap on my first ID. There were a lot of hiccups and errors. To make matters worse, the quality and workmanship was bad. In the long run, there were a lot of issues and additional costs incurred.

Hence on my second renovation, I engaged Derrius from Weiken for my Centre. They were not the cheapest in the market but also not the most expensive. The price quoted was in fact one of the lower ones among the reputable firms.
The most notable difference was the difference in quality of material. My previous carpentry feels hollow, but the current ones feel solid. Fast forward 6 years, scratches on my vinyl flooring were barely visible even though there is a lot of human traffic at my workplace.

Last year, when I got my new place. Derrius was still in Weiken. So, I engaged him again for my new place.
Unfortunately, right before the start of the renovation, we discovered termite. Derrius walk us through on what needs to be done and patiently waited 2 months plus for the termite infestation to be resolved without charging us any delay fees.
He gave us a lot of practical insights which we overlooked during planning. Simple things like having narrow walking space if we purchase a dining table that is too big. He taped up our proposed dining table size and let us have a good feel of how big the walking space will be even though this was not part of his job scope. Whenever there is a new installation, he will take a video with clear explanation and send it to us.
If he is not able to fulfil something, he will also be upfront with us. For example, we wanted an anti-termite door with lifetime warranty. Weiken does not have it, and he introduced Bumi Megah to us.
He was also not pushy. He brought in an aircon contractor for us to compare our quote but never insisted on us taking them up.

I think as a consumer, the most important thing is to have a peace of mind after moving in and an honest and responsible ID to overlook the whole process as we cannot be there to micromanage every single second. Derrius checks all the boxes.

I had the pleasure of working with Derrius on the interior design of my 5-room A model HDB flat in Tampines , and the results are spectacular. From start to finish, the experience was harmonious .

In general we felt the level of renovation was good except for the electrician work, which was generally outside of Derrius’s control. There were good suggestions and workmanship to get around the issues with the house, and it has incorporated most of what we wanted to get out of the new place. End result was good, and we are able to enjoy the new place. Coordination wise Derrius has been very helpful and prompt, most issues resolved even before they are raised to us. Was easy to work with him and he was able to translate our needs to the workers working on the place. Special mention to carpentry work, which I personally think is excellent. Engaged Weiken after an extensive search among several other reputable ID films. First time using their services and we were initially sceptical but it turned out to be a very pleasant one. ID assigned was Derrius Koh. What stands out from the rest was that, even from the initial quotations and proposals Derrius produced, till the order confirmation and actual renovation works, he is super responsive and very comprehensive. No over selling and certainly did not under-delivered. Communications was kept very open and our needs were duly met. We were searching for IDs to do up our new place – spoke to 8 IDs, including Derrius from Weiken IMM branch. Finally we chose Derrius over others after evaluating all factors. He is decisive, offers good opinions, values our inputs, and able to find a ‘best-match’ to blend our requirements to the design aesthetics + functionalities! ID is not a ‘mind-reader’ so we adopted a partnership mentality with him. Share with him our ideas, what we envisage, timelines etc. He will share openly if an idea is lousy (with tact of course), or has a safety angle that we fail to see; uses logic and rationale to explain; engage proactively with us on the details at every stage; kept us updated on the progress; if we spotted something amiss, we gave him the feedback and he would act swiftly and responsibly. Sometimes we weren’t able to ‘visualize’ on drawings and he is patient to explain ‘from our angle’. Overall, he has superb project and time management – which relieved a lot of stress on our part. We had to transit from our rental to our new place by a specific date – amidst the limited manpower, restricted movements etc, he managed to handle all the moving parts to meet our timeline. Doing up a new place can be a logistical nightmare and we have heard horror stories if we chose the wrong ID. But with Derrius, he has managed to turn this into a fruitful project and journey. I got to know Derrius Koh from my friend . I visited her renovated flat a year ago. It was tastefully renovated and so asked my friend to introduce Derrius , interior designer from Wei Ken to renovate my house too.
Derrius came to my house on first visit and I shared with him my needs for full carpentry kitchen , hall , balcony and bedrooms renovation. With few words from him , he came up with his first 3D plan layout.
I loved the first plan proposal with minor changes on plan and house renovation project started three weeks later . The carpentry project completed a month later in satisfying good workmanship. The contractors are conscientious at their work and shoulder responsibility when there are hiccups surfacing during the first week. They rectified it at the shortest time and we are satisfied with their final delivery. The house looks awed especially the feature wall that matches very well with my marble flooring and antique furnitures.
My sister, friends and colleagues were very much impressed with my house new looks ! They said it is very beautiful and grand looking when I showed them photos taken after the house renovation .

Weiken prices maybe slightly higher than some places if you compared with individual contractors,but Weiken can deliver work on time especially in such period whereby many companies are facing shortage of manpower.

We used to be very sceptical about ID and renovation companies. Being clueless about what is best for our new house, we decided to randomly enquire a few online. That was how we came to know Derrius. His excellent follow up skills and ideas impressed us and we decided to go ahead with Weiken.
Throughout the journey, Derrius is patient, accommodating and professional in terms of making the necessary arrangements and coordination/ provides us with his best advice/ updating us of the progress. We had just completed our renovation with Weiken.com and both my fiancé and myself are very pleased with how the renovation was handled throughout the few months and more importantly the end results. Derrius, our designer, has been very professional throughout the process. We had some ideas on how to design our space and he managed to transform these ideas into a functional and beautiful home for us. He was upfront and transparent and always very responsive to our messages (even at odd hours of the day). Also managed to allay many of our fears given that it’s the first time we had engaged an ID firm. He also gave good advice on the designs of the furniture that we bought. Communications with the various vendors were also mostly seamless. There were some delays eventually but mostly understandable given the current situation. The end results look really similar to the 3D drawings, and we had already received many positive reviews on our home after it was done. Workmanship of carpentry is also good, coupled with reasonable pricing of the quotation. Overall a very positive experience with Derrius and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to renovate their homes, and would not hesitate to look for him again for our future renovations.

Derrius Koh from Weiken has been a wonderful ID for us. We picked Derrius out of the other 2 interior designers we approached because he was professional and sincere. During design stage, we’ve been through several rounds of discussions and made many changes along the way. Changes were still being made even after artist impression was
finalised. Derrius had been very accommodating and patient throughout with many of our last minute ideas and demands. He respected them and offered advice such as pros of cons to our ideas. We took in a lot of good suggestions from him along the way to perfect our design.
Derrius provided us with a detailed work schedule when renovation works started, he also gave constant updates on the renovation progress. He was able to stick to the tight schedule proposed and when necessary, make arrangements to accompany us down to buy bathroom accessories and tiles. Adjustments during renovations were unavoidable as it is challenging to visualise dimensions agreed on paper. Greatly appreciate the effort Derrius made in accommodating to our request and communicating it to the various contractors promptly so changes can be ratified on site. He was a problem solver and did not dismiss those changes but rather provided practical solutions for us.
Derrius is also willing to go the extra mile meeting us after dinner due to our work schedule. Many of our follow-up discussions on carpentry and electrical works dragged all the way till midnight. We were glad that the all the hard work paid off. The workmanship quality was excellent and renovation work had been delivered on time and within budget.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our new home. I would highly Derrius to anyone who is looking for a good ID.

Minimal defects were found and the renovation went off smoothly under Derrius’ coordination.

Back then, to save on Reno cost, we engaged a contractor (Amare La Casa) that overpromised and fail to deliver (shoe cabinet that looks like wardrobe, wrong cabinet size, poor workmanship, misaligned doors, shelving with laminated that peel off like paper – they blame it on their suppliers) but what’s done is done and we just had to suck thumb and live with it. Never did we expect that the shoe cabinet gave way and the shelves nearly fall and hit on our toddler girl. We gave up on the contractor and approached Derrius again as Weiken’s quality did stand the proof of time over the past 3 years and Derrius’ design is timeless.

This time round, Derrius synchronised the previous design with the other parts of the house and the design finally fell into one piece with seamless workmanship and the practicality aspects clearly handled well. Throughout the entire process, Derrius was approachable, responsible and very hands on. Yet again, he delivered more than our expectation and we are happy to come home each and every day. Sincerely appreciate his time and effort and we do highly recommend him as a responsible, approachable and accommodating yet practical ID!

To start off, Derrius is a patient and merticulous designer and is very professional in what he does. He has got a vast knowledged on all the renovations work. I am very glad we engaged the right ID for our new home.
After reviewing his previous portfolio, we found out that the concept and theme he does best suits us and he was able to make sure the whole project did not exceed our renovation budget.
Quotation done up is very detailed and itemized, there is no hidden cost or whatsoever. He is very transparent in what he does and how he does it.
As a first time owner, we have many many worries and questions in everything. With Derrius being so patient, he slowly answer to all our needs.
We have also heard of so many horror stories about renovations but with Derrius managing and overseeing our whole renovation it was a dream come true.
Due to our work committment, we are not always available at home to oversee everything.
The whole renovation was seamless, hassle free. We have got bulk furniture that require moving in, Derrius was there almost everytime to oversee for us on behalf to ensure furniture are brought in and placed correctly.
Scheduled appointments with all different contractor are arranged perfectly. All contractor does their job on time.
We have issue on deciding certain things during the renovations and derrius is always there to assist us to decide certain things to match our concept/theme.
